After speaking with Constantine on msn Raphael knew that hey would be having a perfect day ahead of them. Looking at his watch it read three am he wondered why the two were up so late but he didn’t care for that anymore he scanned his room and found his schoolbag. Grabbing it he packed some cloths and grabbed his wallet and keys. Rushing towards his Austin Martin DB9 Raphael climbed into it and threw his schoolbag in the backseat. Raphael turned on the car engine and pressed the button to open the roller door. He would be seeing Constantine very soon and that’s all that matter to him.
Raphael pulled out of the garage and down his driveway, turning back he pressed the button again to close the roller door. Raphael backed out into the street he wouldn’t know if anyone was going to be up at this hour of the morning except him and Constantine of course. Raphael yawned as he drove towards Constantine’s place. It didn’t take him long to reach Constantine’s street he slowed down he didn’t want to wake her parents up or anyone else in the street they would wonder why he would be driving here at this hour of the morning. Raphael pulled into Constantine’s driveway and waited for her as she said she would be waiting for him.

YOUR TRUE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE A RAINBOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Constantine could feel the butterflies in the pit of her stomach as she sat on her bed, talking to Raphael. True, it was 2:30 in the morning but she didn’t really care. Besides, she had to be up anyway. She was writing a report for Jaxon that was due that day and she had yet to complete it. It wasn’t her fault that the boy was lazy and ineffectual and had to wait until the last moment possible to send it to her. And so the report might not be the very best work she had done? That was his entire fault and she needed to make sure to tell him that.
Her fingers scrambled across the keyboard as she went back and forth between the chat and the paper. One moment she was talking to the guy she really liked and the next moment she was writing about the Battalion of Death in Russia. Like those two topics were totally correlating, not.
It was at that moment Raphael posed an interesting question that her fingers hovered about the keyboard. They twitched in anticipation of a response but Constantine couldn’t figure out what she wanted to say. Instead of answering his question, she replied with another question of her own. She just couldn’t answer and her mind was starting to wear thin on the history paper, which needed to be completed.
About five minutes later, she hit the period key, rather hardly, for she was done. Constantine breathed a sigh of relief as she opened up a new email and attached the paper to it. Her mouse clicked back on the conversation with Raphael. She stared at the screen, her mind going over the possibilities. Constantine went back to the other window and clicked send and with that her mind was made up.
She agreed to go with Raphael and to skip school. So what if Jaxon needed her? She couldn’t have cared in the least. She logged off of the chat and got up from her bed. She needed to get packed and ready to go.
Ten minutes passed as she collected her stuff and slipped out her front door, leaving a note on the table that said Jaxon needed her and she’d be home before they knew it. She was pleased to see that Raphael was already in her driveway. Constantine walked down the steps until she hit the pavement. She didn’t have far to go until she reached the car. Yanking open the door, she tossed the bag in, onto the floor and then slid in, in a very unladylike fashion.
Her eyes lit up as soon as she looked at Raph. She pulled her door shut then leaned over, giving Raphael a soft kiss on the lips. “Hey handsome,” she said before she pulled back to smile at him. She then buckled herself in and continued on to say, “Let’s ride Sally!” This was going to be a great day.

Raphael had driven down Constantine’s street quietly he didn’t want to wake anyone up, he didn’t want to have to explain himself to her parents on why he was taking Constantine out at three in the morning something that he didn’t want to do this hour but he knew that he would have to speak to them soon well he hopped that his and Constantine’s relationship would continue on even if Jaxon kept on doing what he was doing though Raphael would continue on the war even if Constantine didn’t like them fighting that way they were he was doing it for Constantine so their relationship he hopped that she would understand him.
Raphael pulled into her driveway and waited for Constantine he wondered where she was though he didn’t have to wait any longer he spotted Constantine walking towards him wearing a cute outfit indeed. Raphael watched as Constantine opened the door and climbed in he returned the kiss she gave him with another soft kiss. “Well then we better get going if we’re going to make to the next town by eight.” Raphael explained. Raphael back out of the driveway and onto the road. He turned into another street and made his way downtown. “I got an Taylor Swift album on the glove box if you want some music.” Raphael teased as he continued to drive. Raphael reached the outskirts of town and turned into the highway that would take them to the next town.

YOUR TRUE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE A RAINBOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Constantine was happy to blow this popsicle stand, which was more affectionately termed her house. She gazed up at the structure and Raph commented on how they needed to get going if they hoped to make it to the next town by breakfast time. Constantine’s stomach actually rumbled as she thought about the food she was going to order. It wasn’t like she was a pig or anything like that but Constantine really loved breakfast foods. The eggs, the bacon, the hash browns, and especially the Belgium waffles topped with fruit and sometimes ice cream if she was in the mood, seriously drove her crazy. She wanted to hide this little quirk from Raphael because she didn’t want him to look at her like she was a huge food freak or something crazy like that.
She kicked the gym bag that was at her feet, away from the center of the floor mat. She wanted somewhere to put her feet for the drive. After all, she was going to be in the car for quite a few hours and she didn’t want her legs to get too cramped. She was the co-captain of the volleyball team and it wouldn’t look good if she was limping on the court. There were a couple other vipers that were more than ready to take her spot if she came up with an injury. Some just wanted the position because they didn’t think a slave should be able to hold that position. Well, Constantine had most definitely shown them when she beat them all at try-outs.
She turned her head, which was currently resting back on the headrest to face Raphael when he said something about having a Taylor Swift album in his glove box. He liked to play dirty, didn’t he? “I wonder if Taylor Lautner sings. I’m sure it would seriously turn me on though, if he did. Cause you know. He’s just hot like that. So damn hot.” Constantine really embellished that last part. She wanted to make him sweat for her. That was part of the game.

Raphael was in the love, he looked over to Constantine who was now sitting next to him in his car god he loved her. Raphael rubbed his right side, there it still hurt a little bit from when Jaxon hit him there though it was slowly going away. Raphael knew that he shouldn't go and fight Jaxon but he really pissed him off and Raphael usually didn't get angry over another master's slave but Constantine was different he was in love with her. Even Raphael thinking those words was strange but for Raphael he knew that it was meant to be and that's all that he needed to know. Raphael snapped back into reality when Constantine was talking about Mr. Stupid werewolf. "How about this we'll go on vacation, you and I. I'll take you to Forks and you can go and find Mr. Werewolf and I'll go after Bella or maybe Alice or both."
Raphael replied to her smiling. Raphael just kept on driving there was also something else that he wanted to tell Constantine and he hopped that she understood why he wanted to do this. "Constantine there's something I want to tell you I hope you don't get mad but I've been wanting to do this before you and I got together." Raphael sighed and continued to drive. "Inside the glove box is a letter I would like you to read it please." Raphael explained. Inside the letter was an acceptance to the US Marines. Raphael had been accepted to join the Marines he had three months before he ships out for basic.

YOUR TRUE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE A RAINBOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Constantine couldn’t stop herself from giggling as she continued to stare at her boyfriend. He was just so dang handsome that she couldn’t force her gaze to look any other place but him. The smile on her face was genuine and she just felt immensely happy about where she was and whom she was with. This was all really great—how she was living her life and really just everything that had gone on recently. This was probably the best she felt in a really long time.
Listening to him go on about the Twilight Saga made her feel almost silly. She hadn’t actually read the books and she hadn’t even seen any of the movies. Constantine snorted at his statement and shortly after she covered her mouth saying, “Oops!” That was a really unladylike thing to do but she was so comfortable with Raphael that she didn’t think he would mind at all. “You know, sweetie,” she continued on to say, “I don’t really know much about Twilight. You know more than me I think.” Constantine burst into a fit of giggles. That was just a little sad that her boyfriend knew more about the Twilight series than she did.
Raphael continued to drive on for a little while before he told her that there was something he wanted her to see and that he hoped she wouldn’t get mad. She was gripped with fear as she heard these words. They were never comforting, never. She hoped it wasn’t something horrible like she would never be able to see him again or she was going to jail or something insane. As she leaned forward to the glove box, her hand was shaking. She opened it up and pulled out a letter. It had already been opened; she noted when she pulled it out. Flipping it over, she noticed return address being from the US Marines. Her eyes crossed as she looked at the envelope. It was really shocking to her that he would have something like that. She turned on the overhead light so that she could better read what the letter had to say.
It took her a solid ten minutes for her to get through the entire letter. It wasn’t that it was long, but it was that she went back and read every paragraph three or four times. She really couldn’t believe what she was reading. She also couldn’t believe that he would be leaving in three months for basic training. None of it made sense to her. Finally, she folded up the letter and slipped it back into its envelope. Gripping the letter tightly, never lifting her eyes, she said in a sad and angry voice, “Pull over.”

Raphael laughed he listened to Constantine as she spoke about the Twilight Saga. “Well I only know so much because my sister goes on and on about Edward I think she’s in love.” Raphael explained as he continued to drive on. Raphael was glad to have Constantine as his girlfriend though he wondered how she would react to him joining the Marines it was something that he wanted to do. Raphael had made up his mind ever since he was sixteen that he was going to join the Marines his father and grandpa were both Marines even his grandpa’s father he just hopped that Constantine understood on what he was doing. When he told his mother he signed up she freaked out but his father was proud that he made the call. After talking with his mother Raphael knew that he had to talk with Constantine about it so when he talked with her on MSN he knew that he had to see her in person to tell her.
Raphael would miss out on graduation he would be leaving two weeks before graduation but he wanted to do more he wanted to serve his own country. Raphael kept on looking back at Constantine as she read the letter from the US Marines then finally she spoke. It was as Raphael expected though he would have to explain it like he explained it to his own mother. Raphael pulled into what seemed to be a lookout, he looked out and spotted tress upon trees and a long drop it would seem they were on a mountain. Turning back to Constantine Raphael turned of the engine. “I know you’re upset Constantine but please let me explain.” Raphael said. “I decided to join the Marines at sixteen I didn’t worry about it much because I didn’t know I would get in I got the letter yesterday. This is what I’ve always wanted to do I’m sorry.” Raphael said he looked back at Constantine waiting for her response.

YOUR TRUE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE A RAINBOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Constantine wasn’t thrilled at the situation to say the least. It, quite frankly, pissed her off! She had, after all of these years of watching Raphael, falling for him despite the fact that he was completely unattainable. It was just terrible to think that he was going to be taken away from her. It seemed like it was only yesterday that she had gotten him. It didn’t seem fair that she would only get a tiny bit of time with Raphael. That was probably was bothered her the most—no time.
As Raphael pulled off to the side of the road, Constantine locked her gaze on a bush nearby. She didn’t want to look at him; she thought she might burst into tears if she did. She didn’t want to be a weak and pathetic girl—she wasn’t the one who broke down. She was the one who stayed calm and then later on, cried her eyes out. She was a crier, though she didn’t like to admit that fact. Constantine had a lot of emotion and there were points where she just had to let it out.
When he started to explain everything to her, she initially didn’t want to listen. She didn’t want to hear it but at the same time, she really needed to hear it. She found that she wanted to know what his logic was for doing something as insane as joining the marines.
Her eyes slowed closed as she listened to his words, just trying to take everything in. It was a lot to hear all at once but Constantine did the best she could with it all. His short explanation really made her think about the guy she liked. She realized that she didn’t know as much about him as she thought she did. The truth was that his hopes fascinated her but at the same time, they scared her.
Constantine couldn’t bring herself to say anything to Raphael. She tried several times but no sound would come from her mouth, not even a grunt. Eventually she let out a deep breath and unfastening the seatbelt, unlocking the door, and dropping the letter back to her now vacant seat, Constantine left the car. Despite being summertime, the air was cool. It was nice and refreshing as the gentle breeze washed over her skin. She took a few steps across the gravel so that she was about three feet away from the edge of the mountain. Sighing, she looked up at the sky and the stars. Constantine didn’t want to think that it would be just a little while before she’d be alone in this huge space. She sniffed as she crossed her arms. Constantine didn’t want to cry but she couldn’t help the tears that started to well up in her eyes.

Raphael wasn’t sure on how Constantine was going to react to his letter about joining the marines. Raphael hadn’t thought about it that much but one thing he knew for certain was that the training was going to be extremely tough he had herd stories from his grandpa and father about the training methods that the marines used, well Raphael only hopped that he would survive boot camp. After he graduated from boot camp Raphael was unsure on where the marines would transfer him somewhere overseas that’s for certain though he didn’t know if we was going to Iraq or Afghanistan or somewhere even worst then both. Both places had US Marine units fighting he knew also that he would see combat.
Seeing combat was apart of military life, though Raphael knew this when he decided to join but he wanted to make a difference he wanted to serve the country he loved and to make it a better place to live for Constantine and his family even though his mother and Constantine wouldn’t understand how he felt about it all Raphael wanted to do was to make a better place for everyone to live in. It was unfair that he was going to be spending very little time with Constantine, three months to be exact he hopped that Constantine would understand everything which is why he wanted to tell her straight away. Raphael loved Constantine very much but this is what he wanted to do. Raphael watched as Constantine left the car not knowing what she was thinking. Raphael did the same he climbed out of the car and ran after Constantine. As Raphael got closer towards her he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend. “I know you’re upset Constantine but I love you more than anything in the world but I need to do this.” Raphael explained as he rested his head on Constantine’s shoulder.

YOUR TRUE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE A RAINBOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sighing seemed to be such a redundant thing to do. But, when she had no words it seemed like something she would automatically do. Constantine sighed as she uncrossed and re-crossed her arms. She continued to keep her back to the car because she didn’t want to see Raphael. She knew that if she did, she’d probably fall to the ground and shatter into a million pieces. Constantine didn’t want to lose him.
As she heard the car door close, Constantine instantly tensed up and she squeezed her arms tighter. She was almost rigid now because she didn’t know what Raphael was doing behind her. Constantine didn’t even know if she wanted to know. She tried to relax her shoulders and not look like such a stiff board but she was entirely unsuccessful as she felt arms wrap around her a minute later. She knew that it was Raphael but that did nothing to allay her concerns.
Constantine bit her lip as more tears welled up in her eyes. She knew that he loved her and that this was something he was going to do. Constantine was really proud at him for having such dedication to something so honorable but she just felt like she was losing out in this whole equation. As Raphael rested his head on her shoulder, Constantine exhaled and tried to relax.
Her shoulder began to distress as did the rest of her body but her mind was still turning. It was almost like she was trying to come up with a way out of this whole situation but she knew there just wasn’t one. He wouldn’t have told her about this plan if he wasn’t serious, after all. And of course, there was the letter to top it all off. He was going and she could not stop him. All that was left, apparently, was her acceptance.
She cast her eyes upwards towards the open sky. Sniffling, she tried not to cry as she said, “I know you’ve gotta do this. I’m just really,” she started to cry, much to her dismay, but she couldn’t control herself now, “I’m really gonna miss you. I love you so much.” Constantine cried softly as she stood there in the arms of Raphael. She was going to miss him so much.

Raphael just looked back at Constantine he knew that she would be like this his mother was the same. Raphael’s mother couldn’t see why he had to follow the family’s legacy and join the military but he explained to her that it had nothing to do with the family’s legacy he knew just about every male member joined the Marines or US Army but he was the first to join as an officer. Raphael loved Constantine more than anything he would give up anything to be with her but he knew that he would have to go away for months and even years to make the country safe for them to be together. Raphael relaxed himself a little bit he didn’t say anything well he didn’t want to say anything until he herd Constantine speak he didn’t know if she was mad or just upset.
Raphael continued to rest his head on Constantine’s shoulder. Constantine finally spoke and he sighed in relief, he knew that Constantine was going to miss him his family was and most of all his sister was going to miss him. Raphael wanted to tell Constantine about his decision last because he wanted to be alone to tell her and he didn’t want Constantine to find out by someone else. Raphael would have expected that Jaxon knew the guy had his way of finding out about things before Raphael even said anything. “Constantine I love you too you know that. I’m going to miss you this is an entire new life I’m about to enter and of course I’m scared about it but I wanted to do this more than ever.” Raphael explained. Raphael knew that Constantine understood that he had to do this. Raphael didn’t have the heart to tell Constantine that he would be going into Infantry the frontline of combat.
