Rayder said as he slid himself past the oncoming person. One of the hardback books he was carrying, unfortunately, hit the person in the arm, and the book dropped to the floor. "Shit," cursing rather swiftly, he squatted down to get the book. Getting back up he looked to the person with whom his book had just made contact, and said, "My bad."[/ul] ooc: Feel free to think of any bizarre plot here if you want! Clearly I didn't have one to begin with xD But yeah, open to anyone, guy, girl, old, young, whatever :]

It had been over a month now since she had met her new master and each day seemed action packed, fraught with some kind of mayhem or other. Parties with his biker gang seemed constant and lasted well into the early hours of most mornings, as a result her studies were beginning to flounder. Her assignments going undone. It had taken every ounce of strength she had to phone him that morning and tell him she wouldn't or couldn't make the party tonight. She seriously had to catch up or risk failing her exams and that was not an option. Out of Creighton was top of her agenda no matter how damn hot her master may be.
Her one and only break found her in the local bookstore, browsing through shelves for necessary study aids when a different type of chemistry book caught her eye completely. She had thought she was falling for her new master but that would have been ludicrous something she would probably regret for the rest of her life. Wearing her favorite skinny jeans, green gingham blouse and also sporting glasses which she only ever wore during lectures, Valentina became absorbed in the books on human chemistry and the perfect couple. Was there even such a thing?
Moving down the narrow aisles was a daunting task at the best of times but today she simply wasn't paying attention until a muttered apology and something hard bumping against her made her own books as well as anothers fall, hitting her toes before making it to the floor. Grimacing against the pain she bent swiftly down to retrieve her books. She stood at the same time he did, looking at him for the first time. He looked familiar and she knew instantly she had seen him around campus.
"That's ok I should have been paying attention to where I was going" she smiled at him, hoping the titles of her books had not been visible. The subject matter of both was a bit ridiculous now and felt like a desperate bid by a lonesome spinster for catching the all allusive mr. right.

It was no mystery that Rayder was not one to be all outgoing and friendly to just about anybody. It wasn't a likable trait at times, but hey, it was much better than coming off as a total jerk, which he wasn't. While he was thinking about the unfortunate possibility of having to say more than he would prefer to a stranger, Rayder had been standing there, allowing for an awkward moment to form. Unfortunately he did not notice it until it was already too late. "Uh, is your foot all right?" Luckily what had hit the girl's foot was her own books. If Rayder's somewhat bulky, hardback books had struck her, it would have been much more painful. Now, he could have simply said goodbye or something of the exit category, and just make off with his books to the cash register, but he didn't, and he was already regretting it. Well, at least he wasn't just standing there staring at her thinking how awkward this was, which it really wasn't but the boy's mind works in his own ways.[/ul]

Val had the loftiest of allusions where her master was concerned, never before had she even viewed a master like this but to her Patrick was different. The sex, the parties, the out and out fun of it all had her caught up in it's rollercoaster and rather than be a prude she had gone with the flow. Enjoyed herself immensely and now hoped for more. If only this other slave wasn't in the way, then it would have surely been plain sailing on the sea of Patrick Schreyer. She was dumbstruck by how single minded her thoughts were becoming of late, barely able to string together a coherent sentence to her friends. Most of the time his name accidentally slipped out and they would tell her to get over it and then some.
So she was trying, the whole purpose of the books was because she was trying. Whether of course that was to determine if they were a good match or whether it was to deduce if she should close her eyes and allow whatever seemed to be developing between Patrick and the other girl. She couldn't even be bothered remembering her name for crying out loud. Val had meant to get other books of course, some proper chemistry text books but had not been able to resist these trivial ones seeming to lunge out at her from the shelf.
The boy attempted to gather his own books at the same time as she, standing there with a dopey smile on her face trying so hard to be polite she wondered why he didn't speak. A slight frown formulated on her face and then realizing that perhaps he wasn't going to say anything in return she moved to step aside, pushing her glasses up on her head as she did so. At that very moment he chose to utter a few words and startled she turned again bumping his arm and quickly reaching out to steady his hand so he would not drop his books again.
Her fingers slightly grazed his and for some unknown reason she pulled her hand back quickly. What had he asked her? Her foot? Realization dawned and she smiled again then thought better of it convinced that her smile was somehow startling him.
"It will survive. I can still walk so no harm done. Just lucky it wasn't your books that had landed on it" she grinned again kicking herself mentally and warning herself not to continue doing that but she couldn't help it. Naturally polite and naturally outgoing was simply who she was. An awkward moment seemed intent on settling it self again so she seriously thought she had better excuse herself and pronto.
It seemed the world was against them that day though as down into the aisle a heavy set woman careened, impolite and determined to make her way to the end which they of course blocked. Valentina was shoved rather rudely against the boy, her hand gripped his shoulder to steady herself as she stared after the woman. Wishing she could holler something about manners but restraining herself, just. When she turned her face around it was to come directly to face his. Noses nearly touching. Her eyes widened in disbelief. She had been practically pressed up against him even after the woman had passed.
"Sorry" she muttered taking a step back wards and pushing some hair behind her ear. This time she did move along down the next aisle devoid of people but filled with books of pornographic content. Her eyes bulged and she groaned but refused to go back out into the aisle until the boy had left. How was she to know her glasses had fallen to the ground near his feet.

Well, his plan to escape just kind of hit an obstacle, but all he had to do was say good day and he would be on his way. That was the plan. Of course it was not going to work out, everything that has happened thus far suggested that they were somehow prevented from leaving each other's sight. Just then a woman from behind him rudely made her way through the aisle, not giving either of them the chance to move on their own accord, but rather shoved them together to make room for herself. The girl fell towards him, and placed her hands on his shoulders to hold herself up. At the same moment, Rayder reached out with his hands to catch her, one knee bent slightly for support. When they were both steady, Rayder had realized his right hand, still carrying the books, had grabbed onto her waist on the right side and his left hand was attached to the spot right below her left armpit. As she was pushed into him, naturally the books in his hand stabbed into his side, and it was not something that was hard to notice for Rayder, at all. Hardback covers do have durable, somewhat sharp corners. "Awkward" could not even begin to describe how he felt right now. Rayder was not expecting this to happen, and was so nervous that he was afraid to move even a slight portion of an inch. Their noses were so close to each other that it would strain his eyes to try to focus on seeing her nose. Needless to say, if either one of them moved forward by some degree, there is no telling where either one's lips would land on. He was reluctant to breathe because at this distance, a slight breath actually would carry its warmth to each other, and that would just feel weird. At the moment she had taken a step back from this awkward position, Rayder snapped his hands away from her and quickly drew them back, reliving himself of the slight pain in his waist. "Don't worry about it."As the girl moved to the next aisle, Rayder looked toward the rude woman exiting the aisle. Feeling frustration stabbing at his heart hotly, he shouted after her, ready to unleash his angry demand for an apology. The problem was, while he was shouting after the right person, Rayder had actually thought that she was a man. This was a common problem with Rayder, that he would confuse a man for a woman and a woman for a man, if he was not careful. "Hey! Dude in the front! You wanna apologize for just shov---" his mouth stopped moving and stay open and his eyes widened as the woman turned around and Rayder realized that he had just called her a dude. She had a look in her eyes that attacked Rayder's confidence in confronting her. "S-Sorry, never mind, m-ma'am." He could have swore that he heard the woman growl like an angry beast before she left, but Rayder was just relieved that the rude one did not decide to make a thing out of it. However, Rayder felt like he was the rude one for calling her a man. Lowering his head to sigh, he saw that there was a pair of glasses resting by his feet. "Of course..." He picked up the glasses and moved toward the exit of the aisle. Moving down an aisle he found the girl who had just shared the awkward moment of the day with him. How embarrassing for Rayder since the girl was just right there in the next aisle when he had mistaken a woman for a man. It seemed as though she was hiding more than actually having business in that aisle, especially since when Rayder glanced at the aisle he realized it was filled with adult materials. Now if the girl was into that sort of thing, then that wasn't his business anyway. He was just there to return the glasses. "Hey, I think you dropped this."[/ul]

Was it utterly ridiculous to feel elation when another human being concurs with any statement you make? It felt like that when he announced rather enthusiasticaly that his thoughts had been the same. Valentina's smile on any other given day was like sunshine after a rainy day, the rainbow peeping through the flecks of grey. It was not in her nature to be downhearted or downtrodden quite so easily, no matter what the man Allan Clark had put her through. It bordered on rape but the fact that her body had eventually responded meant of course that it wasn't. She had put up a fight though, for a while she had been cagey of men. Weary of any strange boy that came near her and yet the brief contact of their fingers had not alarmed her at all. Rather it had merely allowed her to remember the innocence of a passing touch.
Her eyes glowered at the obese woman who had tossed them together, Val knew she should have been more horror struck by being so close to him but she wasn't. The contact though awkward felt strangely pleasant too. She wondered at this briefly as her face turned to stare directly into his face. So close she had to hold her breath, if she opened her mouth even a fraction she wondered would he take that as an indicator to kiss her? The thought alone made her shut her mouth tightly of course bringing attention too it. It seemed like an eternity but it was only seconds, a few very long drawn out seconds.
The feel of his hand on her waist, the other just below her armpit dangerously close to her left breast sent tiny shivers through her and only when they had broken apart could she breathe any way normal again. His voice was nice somewhat restrained but still nice but Val simply wanted to move on before she died of embarrassment. The aisle she found herself in was thankfully empty. She placed a hand instinctively at her waist touching where his had been as her eyes glanced the shelves, growing wider and wider each time. The pornographic section in Creighton was much too large for the size of the bookstore but why was she not surprized by this fact?
She heard the boy's voice shout out to the woman and had to supress a chuckle. He had thought it was a man and judging by the hasty end to his sentence and then an even hastier apology the woman was non too thrilled. Val's right hand moved up to touch below her armpit, though for all the world it looked like she had her hand covering her own breast. Again for some strange reason she was feeling where he had touched her, when he came around the corner. Embarressment flooded her honey toned skin and hastily she removed her hand and absently reached for the nearest book as if she were engrossed in its contents.
His words caused her to look to his hand to see her glasses and she sighed feeling the situation between them already fraught with so many tiny incidental awkward moments. They were to get bigger, as Val's gaze glanced at the book she had opened in her hand only to see the voluptous naked figure of a woman grovelling at the naked form of a man. Shock startled her and jerking her hands as if scalded by the book, it fell to the ground opening at an even more lewd page. "I wasn't... that is, I mean. Oh crap" she bent down hastily to retrieve the book.

Holding the pair of glasses out, Rayder tried to offer some words of comfort. The faster she calmed down the faster he could get out of there. [/ul] ooc: Sorry for the lame post >.< I am kind of out of it today posting-wise

Was there anything more embarrassing that being caught in the porno aisle with a porno book in hand when she hadn't been intending for any of those things to pan out. She could careless on any other day of the week, would probably have gotten a good laugh at some of the pictures and most definitely at finding herself down this particular aisle but today was not a normal day. She had a lot on her mind and the brief human contact, close contact at that of another human being other than her master had startled her. Perhaps she didn't need to bother with any chemistry books to know what she should have known all along. Lust was a fun emotion when it was two consenting adults but it often fooled you into believing there was more there when clearly there wasn't. She cared deeply for her master and probably always would. He was good to her, kind to her, made sure she had a great time always. When her bike had gotten smashed up he had made sure it had been taken care of until it almost looked as good as new.
Of course she would have thought she had more feelings than she did for him but why had it taken the gentle pressure of a complete strangers fingers grazing against hers, a hand on her waist and under arm to figure this out? It was simple she surmised as she bent down to retrieve the book taking her time to calm herself and straighten out the mishmash jumble of thoughts in her head. If she could like the touch of anyone else even a complete stranger and she had liked the feel of his hand on her waist then whatever she had thought she felt for Patrick could not be real or could not be as deep and heartfelt as all of that.
Standing up she felt decidedly more confident as she closed the book and placed it back on the shelf, her fingers tracing the spine of the book. Looking at the other two in her hand she put those on the shelf as well before turning to look at the boy. Taking her glasses from him she smiled. She couldn't help it now, it was like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders and the accidental meeting with a complete stranger had helped to lift it.
"Thank you" she didn't dare say anymore, there was nothing else too say. Moving passed him to make for the aisle she had intended she stopped beside him and impulsively leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. The subtle hint of vanilla and strawberries filling the air. "Thanks" she wasn't just talking about the glasses now as she continued on her way to find and then purchase the books she had intended to get all along.

As she disappeared from the aisle he recollected his thoughts which were still somewhat scrambled by the confusion, and realized that he should probably be confused elsewhere where there were not two walls of pornographic materials surrounding him. The scent still lingered on even as he was far away from the aisle, and the slight tingle of her lips pressed against his cheek was slowly fading away. Though he had thought her odd, she had certainly left an impression on him. Moving along, with the three books in his hand, Rayder made his way toward the cash register, ready to pull out his credit card and send himself out of the doors.[/ul] ooc: all right so here's the thing, sorry this is short, but since i figured this is the closing post from my end there is no need to somewhat parallel the material you had in your previous post, which would be matters of the heart. i didn't feel the need to begin and elaborate on new topics either since it seemed like tedious work for little value, as that would be better served in another thread, possibly. so once again, sorry for the short post >.< this can't be good for my reputation, by the way, closing an eight-post thread, ha...by the way, notice this ooc message is half the paragraph length above xD

She stood in the science aisle once again, much smaller than the pornographic aisle she had to admit though wasn't really surprised by this. The books she had meant to purchase all along were right there, if only she had just picked those up and gone on her merry way all the needless embarrassment could have been spared. With a sigh she walked to the end of the aisle holding her books closely to her.
Looking towards the till she noted that the boy was there already, so hung back some more until she was sure he had left. A table and some chairs set up for patrons comfort invited her for a moment but though she sat she did not open her books but still rather held them tight to her. This had been some day for revelations that was sure.
The past few days she had been her usual flashbacks, a side effect from being plied with too much alcohol and the things she saw in those flashbacks were disgusting and horrendous. If she were to believe them true then any feelings she had thought she had for Patrick were non existent he was nothing more than an animal. But the flashbacks had not been the catalyst in this realization of what a prick her master was, it had been a chance meeting in a bookstore with a complete stranger.
Valentina smiled to herself, maybe she'd meet the boy again some day but for now she was quite content to let him buy his own books and go on his way before she too did. The thought now of returning to Patrick niggled her, she was no longer a blind fool for him and would have to be extremely weary of alcohol consumption around him. Standing once more she went to finally pay for her books.
