Past, Present and Future; Patrick

Kayla walked to Silver Lake remembering all the fun times she had with Patrick when they were children. Kayla had gone to the spot where her grandmother's house used to be and had put a note to her grandmother and buried it. Kayla sent a prayer to her grandmother knowing that she was always watching over her precious granddaughter. Kayla then walked back to the Lake and climbed the tree she and Patrick used to climb when they were kids. Kayla knew that her time with Patrick was in the past. Her own four years of suffering, after her parents' untimely death. Kayla looked across the waters remembering when she and Patrick would race each other and have splash fights and do the fun stuff kids did. Kayla remembered all of it now. Kayla looked to her phone and decided to text Patrick. She needed to tell Patrick about her love for Raven. She knew that it would be hard to say because they were so close. They were like childhood sweethearts and now she was going to tell him that she was in love with her master. Honestly she didn't know how Patrick would take that, she only knew that if he was still the best friend she ever had, he would be happy for her. Kayla knew that he would be. Kayla sighed as she started typing a message in her phone. 'I need to talk to you Patrick. I'm at Silver Lake up in that tree we always climbed as kids. ~Kayla' Now she just had to wait for him.

Patrick was at his apartment working on his bike. He had a flat tire so he began to change it he was in the final touches before he herd his phone going off. Patrick finished working on the tire and cleaned his hands of, he walked over to his phone and discovered a message from Kayla. Reading the message he smiled he remembered the time they spent at silver lake when they were kids. ‘I’m on my way Kayla I just need to take a shower been working on my bike for most of the morning see you soon, Patrick’ Patrick sent her the text and immediately made a dash to his apartment. Taking of his cloths Patrick entered the showered and turned the taps on. He didn’t take long before stepping out of the shower and putting on a new set of cloths. Getting his keys and wallet Patrick made his way to his bike. Climbing on Patrick took the chance to look around before turning the engine on. Hearing it roar to life Patrick raced down the road towards silver lake he hadn’t been to the place in ages the last time he remembered going to silver was with Kayla. Patrick wondered what Kayla needed to talk about with him though he only hopped that it would be a good talk but he will never know unless he went there. Patrick parked his bike and looked around he couldn’t see Kayla nearby so he climbed off his bike and turned the engine off. Looking around he spotted Kayla up the tree the same tree they climbed on when they were kids. Patrick climbed the tree and sat down next to Kayla. “Hey you’re message sounded important what’s up?” Patrick asked Kayla.

Kayla waited for Patrick after getting a reply text from him. She knew that this would be the hardest thing she'd tell Patrick. So she needed to word it carefully. Kayla thought about how to start the conversation. Knowing Patrick, he would ask what was up and she would respond with a simple reply. In this case it would be telling him that she slept with Raven last night. And then go into her long but heart filled explanation of what had happened and that would include that she was in love with Raven. How Patrick would take that was beyond her. She only hoped that Patrick would be happy for her and that he would still care for her in a brotherly way. Kayla waited a bit as she started thinking of what her life was now. She had been saved by Raven and slowly but surely fallen in love with him. Kayla could hear down below that someone was here. She looked down and saw Patrick. Kayla smiled and waved as she watched him climb up and sit down next to her. Kayla smiled to Patrick and listened to him ask the question she knew he would ask her. "Well, last night I uh, slept with my master...Raven," Kayla said nervously. Baby steps Kayla. This may just drive Patrick crazy so let's start with this and then explain everything to Patrick. Take baby steps Kayla. The last thing you want is to lose you best friend. Kayla told herself.

As Patrick slowly climbed the tree he wondered what Kayla needed to talk to him about but it must be important or else Kayla would have called his mobile. Patrick listened to Kayla as she told him that she had sex with Raven her master. Patrick was crushed he didn’t know that she was even in love with her new master Raven, he didn’t say anything straight away he was trying to find the energy to speak. “I don’t know what to say Kayla. I thought we were going good we just got reunited once more and my feelings for you have returned. I was going to ask you out on a date but since you slept with you’re master I don’t know.” Patrick said he climbed down the tree and leaned against it he didn’t say anything he was in deep thought he didn’t know what he was going to do now. “I guess you love him yeah?” Patrick asked. He wanted to know more but his heart was telling him not to ask but right now he wasn’t thinking straight. Patrick looked up back towards Kayla wondering what she was thinking right now. Looking back at the mountain he remembered the fun the two had hiking up there when they were kids, he remembered getting lost and falling down braking his leg though he had Kayla and her Gran to look after him and take him to the hospital.

Kayla knew that Patrick would be hurt. She knew that their bond was something more than just friendship. But she had chosen Raven because her life had changed because of him and she really didn't want to see him hurt like last night. And she didn't want him to leave her. Kayla climbed down the tree and looked to Patrick. "Patrick...I thought we were going well too...but something was bothering me and I finally found out what it was. I still care a lot about you Patrick. You know I would never want to hurt you, under any circumstance. Patrick I really did like you more than anything even when we got back together I thought maybe things would be better for us. Then I started feeling uncomfortable in my sleep, my master and I were already sharing my bed because he didn't trust me alone yet. Because of the guys I had as masters before and he promised Gran he would protect me." Kayla explained. "I was confused about who I liked more, you or Raven. I knew that I liked Raven a little bit before we were reunited. But after that things just got confusing. Until last night. Raven was going to give me to you when I told him I was confused about my feelings and when he told me that it hurt. Like someone broke up with me because we couldn't be together. It hurt and I knew why. I was sure that I loved him and well you know the rest." Kayla explained. Kayla looked to Patrick hoping that he would understand, but she knew that it would be hard for him.

Patrick didn’t know what to think, he thought everything was going great between him and Kayla but he guessed wrong everything could change in a blink of an eye he gathered that Kayla didn’t have the same feelings that he had for her. Patrick looked away from Kayla he didn’t want to look back at her he was too crushed to do so though he did listen to what she had to say even if he didn’t like the words that she was saying. Patrick hadn’t a clue on what to say to her right now and thus he just kept silent as he listened on not really knowing what to reply back to.

Patrick back to Kayla finally as she finished telling Patrick how she felt about Raven. “Do you love him or me Kayla? I love you but it you love another man then I don’t know what we’re going to do.” Patrick explained he really didn’t know what to do. “I just don’t understand it Kayla, alright I get the you’re Gran asked him to protect you and all but I don’t know why you had feelings for him when you had feelings for me.” Patrick said he turned away and started walking towards his bike. “I need to think.” Patrick said as he walked over towards his bike and climbed onto it. He wondered if Kayla would follow him but he didn’t care he turned the engine on and looked at the lake for a moment.

Kayla knew that Patrick would be crushed and she knew that he would take it really hard. When he asked who she loved she knew that it was Raven. Then he told her that he loved her, but if she loved someone else he didn't know what they were going to do. Kayla gripped her hands together knowing that she would be hurt and that Patrick would be more hurt. Kayla knew that it was confusing for Patrick to understand. Even she was confused about her having feelings for Raven when she had feelings for Patrick. Kayla watched as Patrick started to walk away and she wasn't going to let him go. Kayla ran over to Patrick on his bike and hugged him tightly. "Patrick please...I don't want to lose you. Kayla cried. She knew that the engine was on but she couldn't let Patrick leave. "Please Patrick I know that it's confusing but it happened. I fell in love with Raven, but please understand that you will always be my first love...it just didn't turn out like we had thought. Patrick you're still a big part of my life and I don't want to lose you. I've lost enough already can't I be left with someone who will still be able to love and care for me even though I can't...I know it's selfish of me, but I don't want to live a life without you in it. Please...Patrick, I'm sorry..." Kayla cried. She knew that she deserved to be hurt, she deserved to lose everything but she didn't want to lose everything.

Patrick wasn’t happy and by now he thought that everything was going great, they had so many fun times since they both were reunited he thought that they could be more than friends now but he guessed wrong it would seem that she now loved Raven and not him. Patrick didn’t know what was going on it was like his heart shattered into millions of tiny pieces everything was falling apart for Patrick right about now. There was only one good thing that happened today and that was buying his second slave Faith maybe seeing her would cheer him up a little bit. Patrick was completely broken now he looked out at the lake while he sat on his bike.

Patrick was about to ride of until Kayla came running and talking to him. Patrick half listened to Kayla he turned to look at her as she spoke with him. “Well you don’t love me you love him right?” Patrick started he wasn’t sure what was going on it was like someone playing a game. Maybe Patrick was on this live reality TV show where they just played and toyed with his heart till he couldn’t take anything more. “Its selfish Kayla I poured my heart out to you and you go and love another man. You’re fucking master.” Patrick yelled back he was very pissed of with Kayla right now. Patrick thought with his mind of leaving right there and then back something told him to stay put, he turned of the engine to here what Kayla had to say.

"I know it's selfish and I know that I hurt you...and I know you probably don't want to see me anymore and I understand but please Patrick...I don't want to lose my only real friend. Someone who's always been there for me. And you can call me selfish, you can call me a bitch, I don't care what you call me because I know that what I'm putting you through is something that I never wanted to put you through Patrick. But I'd be lying to you the entire time making it like I still loved you. I would probably have drowned myself in that lake there if I didn't tell you and I kept leading you on. I would never forgive myself if I did that. I won't forgive myself for what I'm doing to you now either." Kayla cried. She wiped away her tears trying to find the right words to say so that she could make things better.

"Patrick, if you want the pain to go away then just...just kill me..." Kayla muttered. She didn't want to die, but she didn't want to see Patrick like this and she knew that what she was saying was absolutely stupid, but what else was she going to say. "Please Patrick...you're always there for me and the one time I should be here for you...I'm not. So maybe we should just end this..." Kayla wasn't sure what Patrick was going to do. If he really did love her wouldn't he let her be happy? If Kayla was in his place she would be hurt, devastated and broken, just like him. However she probably would've accepted the fact that she was only second best and that was better than nothing. Kayla waited for Patrick to say or do something.

((Yes, she's being so dramatic, but I thought that this would be interesting and Kayla's words just came through my head and onto the post ^^))

“Yeah it’s bloody selfish Kayla you have no idea what you’re doing to me right now. You’re crushing my heart in two. I loved you and you go and do this to me just when we’ve reunited after so many years that we’ve been apart. I don’t really give a shit about you’re stupid master Kayla I just thought you had feelings for me that’s but you go and do something like this ah fuck it.” Patrick said he didn’t know what to do but one thing was for certain he had to get out of here. “Look I’m not going to fucking kill you that’s for you’re master to deiced and frankly I don’t care what you and he does anymore.” Patrick yelled back. Patrick was furious with Kayla he had been crushed by her, now he knew that there wasn’t anyone out there for him anymore.

His phone beeped at him, reading the text he found out that he now owned Faith which was good maybe she will cheer him up a little bit since Kayla wanted nothing to do with him now except to be friends which to Patrick was bullshit right there. “Maybe you’re right Kayla we’ll end this right here and now. I don’t want to see you again Kayla you’ve broken my heart I thought you loved me back but guess I was wrong shame on me huh. Now fuck off. I’ve got a slave to go to maybe she will be better company than you.” Patrick raced of on his Harley Davidson the trail of dust and dirt hit Kayla as Patrick rode of out of silver lake and out of Kayla’s life he didn’t even look back at her.
