kayla smiled when Patrick told her that it was probably her grandma that was watching over him. Her grandmother did care for both of them a lot and always watched out for them. Then she listened to Patrick explain that he had his first kiss already. Well at least he had his first kiss before she did. Kayla smiled when Patrick told her that he wouldn't dream of getting rid of her. Which was good because he was going to be stuck with her for some time. Kayla smiled as she started pulling Patrick away from the trash can. "Okay, then. Books then your stuff," Kayla said as she pulled Patrick along to the bookstore. It was close to the food court which made everything better. Kayla walked into the bookstore, dragging Patrick behind her. She weaved her way through the shelves and found some fantasy books. Kayla started looking through with the little not in her hand. She had a list of books she wanted to get. Kayla pulled out a few books and then looked around for other books. When she was done she paid for them using the money that was returned to her. Kayla bought her books and then walked outside waiting for Patrick. Kayla waited for Patrick to lead her to where he needed to go since she was pretty sure that Patrick knew where he was going.

Patrick followed Kayla out of the food court he was glad that they had moved away from the trash can he didn’t like to stand next to it and talk to Kayla while other people just threw their trash into the bin right next to them. Patrick watched as Kayla smile back he wondered if her Gran was up there somewhere laughing her head off realizing that they both have reunited with each other. Maybe this was Kayla’s Gran’s doing though Patrick didn’t know about that but it seemed logical after all her Gran was that kind of woman. Patrick kind of wished that Kayla’s and his first kiss was with each other though he was afraid that she didn’t like him like that way.
“Alright then lead the way Kayla.” Patrick replied as he followed her to the book store well he was being dragged along with her but he didn’t mind at all. Patrick waited outside the bookstore as Kayla went in and buy some books. Patrick was never really interested in reading books he didn’t have an interest back in high school though he wasn’t going to say anything to Kayla but something told him that Kayla knew already it was probably her plan. Finally Kayla walked out of the bookstore. “Finally I thought you were going to be in there forever I forgot how much you liked books.” Patrick joked. “I need to go the grocery store, in dire need of food supplies.” Patrick explained as he made his way to the grocery store.

Kayla giggled as Patrick complained about how long it had taken her to come out of the bookstore. Then he told her that he needed to go to the grocery store and started walking. Kayla followed behind him. She wondered what her grandmother was saying about all this. It was nice to be with Patrick again. She had really hoped that they would share their first kiss together but it wasn't so. However Kayla was just glad to be back with Patrick. She wondered if he had any slaves and if he treated them like any of her masters. She took a wild guess and decided that he was the type who would prefer obedient slaves. However if he had her as a slave she knew that it wasn't going to change anything between them. Not even the status. They would still be best friends. Kayla continued to follow Patrick to the grocery store. Making sure to follow closely so that she didn't get lost on their way and then never find Patrick again. Kayla didn't want to lose Patrick after all those years. Kayla continued to follow behind hoping that Patrick knew where he was going, which she was sure he knew.

Patrick watched as Kayla giggled back at him as he complained about how long it took her in the bookstore he of course was only teasing Kayla. Teasing Kayla was so much fun he remembered doing so back when they were both kids. Patrick walked beside Kayla to the grocery store he was glad that he could spend more time with her, seeing Kayla again had brought up old feelings for her he hadn’t had so much fun in a long time. Patrick had wondered is books were all that brought Kayla to the bookstore though he didn’t know that he could only guess but he was so glad that he decided to go to the mall himself today otherwise he would have never met up with Kayla today.
However he knew for certain that fate had other plans and if they didn’t meet in the mall Kayla and Patrick would have met somewhere else somehow. Patrick had wondered what would things be like if Kayla had been his slave he should’ve just bought her back in freshman year but he didn’t even know she was a slave to begin with. Patrick and Kayla would’ve stayed the same even if she was his slave, this is what Patrick knew for certain. Patrick grabbed a trolley and wheeled it intro the grocery store. “Only need a few things can’t take that much on my bike anyways.” Patrick explained to Kayla.

Kayla followed Patrick into the grocery store. Kayla watched as Patrick grabbed a cart and pushed it through the store. Kayla listened and kept up with Patrick as he explained that he couldn't take a lot because of his bike. Kayla wondered a bit about what would have happened if Patrick had taken her as his slave. They're relationship probably would still be the same, maybe stronger even. After all they would be spending a lot of time together and that would have probably brought them a lot closer. Kayla wondered what would happen now if she was with Patrick. There were so many things she wondered about if certain things happened. However the universe didn't want the two of them together for some reason, and now she felt like with Raven in the picture, their relationship would probably change for the better or worse. Kayla could only hope for better because her affection for Patrick was still stronger than Raven's.
"So, what do you need to get Patrick? I mean I can help you find some things," Kayla said wanting to make herself useful. Kayla didn't like it when she couldn't do anything for people she cared about. She was the one who always had to be saved and she didn't want to be that person all the time. Kayla looked to Patrick wondering what was going through his head. She had a feeling it was the same thing that she was thinking about.

Patrick made his way into the grocery store pushing the trolley, he looked around there wasn’t that much he needed except maybe just a few things that were running low there weren’t many items that he could fit inside his bike and thus he would need his car to do the job. Patrick turned towards Kayla as she spoke to him asking what he needed. “I have a list somewhere.” Patrick trailed off his hands were inside his jacket looking for the list. Patrick felt the handgun that was hidden in a secret pocket even Kayla couldn’t see it he had so many enemies after him and Patrick needed to be armed and with his jacket made with special material that even the folks from the airport wouldn’t detect it.
Finally Patrick spotted the list it was inside his jeans pocket. Handing the list to Kayla there wasn’t much on it, eggs, steak, veggies, break, milk, coffee, cheese and vodka. Yeah he was dangerously low on alcohol and that was not good for Patrick. It was all that he could fit in the back of his bike though he knew that it would last him till at least the weekend where he could drive his car into the mall and do his main shop. “Don’t need that much.” Patrick explained. Patrick turned back towards Kayla she was just as he remembered her but more beautiful than ever he wondered what would happen if she was his slave not Raven’s though this couldn’t be helped now.

Kayla took Patrick's list and looked at it. She sighed a bit. "Vodka? Really Patrick? I mean I knew you'd be into drinking but vodka?" Kayla asked Patrick in half disbelief. Kayla knew that Patrick would probably be into alcohol. However she thought that vodka was a bit too strong for alcohol. But with what she knew about Patrick now and then it probably fit well with him and his lifestyle. "I'm guessing you spend loads of time at Joe's Pub right." Kayla added as she looked back to the list stopping right as she nearly walked into a table. It had some of the weird canned food stacks that Kayla would almost always run into when she went shopping with her grandma. "I still hate these things. They're evil. Always appearing out of nowhere in time for me to walk right into them." Kayla spoke as she glared at the inanimate table with the cans as she walked around it.
Kayla re-read the list again. And had an idea of where everything was. If she was sent out at all during the four years of high school slavery to the abusers it was to go get groceries. Kayla walked down the aisle and found some ground coffee. Kayla knew which brand was the best since she normally drank coffee and tea. Kayla picked up the a package of black coffee and turned to Patrick. "You like black or regular coffee?" Kayla asked.

Patrick just kept on pushing his trolley looking for stuff he needed he smiled at Kayla as she mentioned vodka. Patrick turned back as he stopped his trolley. “Yeah I’m seriously getting low on vodka need more. Vodka is one of my favorite alcohol drink.” Patrick explained to Kayla. Patrick would get the bottle of vodka latter after the grocery shop since he couldn’t by vodka here which was a darn shame too but then again he didn’t mind the walk over to the bottle shop. Looking down the aisle Patrick kept an eye out for the items he needed.
Turning his head over towards where Kayla was he smiled when he herd her say something about coffee, he cursed himself as he almost missed it but lucky that Kayla was here. Walking back to where Kayla was he looked at the two kinds that she was holding. “Regular would be perfect Kayla thanks.” Patrick replied back, he was glad that she was helping him out with his shopping it was like old times when they went shopping with his parents or Kayla’s Gran. Hearing Kayla speak again he just smiled she knew him more than most people did even when they hadn’t seen each other for a very long time.
“Yeah I spend most of my time there. You know me all too well even when we’ve haven’t seen each other for a while.” Patrick replied back to Kayla. “I so know what you mean Kayla.” Patrick replied back to her about the canned food they normally had the same effect on him too. Patrick saw the eggs and picked out a six carton one. “Got the eggs.” Patrick explained to Kayla.

Kayla put the package of regular coffee inside the cart and watched as Patrick got the eggs. It was nice to be around Patrick again. Reminded her of their time together as kids. Kayla looked around and saw the produce section. Kayla picked up a few bell peppers and felt them around a bit. Her Gran had always told her that the best way to tell a good vegetable was the feel of it. Her Gran had taught her lots of stuff. Kayla looked back to Patrick and smiled. "You know which veggies to get I presume," Kayla said as she looked around. Kayla knew that she wouldn't need any food since she'd eat at the school's cafeteria. Kayla found some carrots and giggled to herself at an old memory. She loved carrots and her parents told her she would nibble them like a bunny which had always confused her. Kayla wasn't sure about what vegetables Patrick needed so she let him figure that out. Kayla saw the milk and got a half gallon carton, knowing that Patrick couldn't take a lot on his bike. She came back and put the milk in the cart. She looked at the list again and knew that the cheese was close by. But she didn't know what kind of cheese Patrick liked, or more so she couldn't remember so she went and got the bread instead and came back to the cart. "You livin' by yourself?" Kayla asked.

Patrick was happy right now, the happiest that he had felt in a very long time being with Kayla always made him happy even when he was angry it was Kayla that made him happy once more she could always calm him down. Patrick remembered back when the were in elementary school a kid was picking on Kayla and Patrick was going to fight him and the kids group. Patrick had confronted the kid they got into a punch up before Kayla arrived and calmed Patrick down before he did some real damage to the kid. “Yeah I do Kayla.” Patrick replied to her he smiled as he grabbed the veggies that he needed to get, they weren’t that many only a few that would last him the weekend.
Patrick watched as Kayla found the milk and placed it in the trolley as he got the cheese that he loved since he was a little kid. “Yeah though the gang comes over nearly every day so I’m not lonely.” Patrick explained. “Hey Kayla you remember Bradley? The kid back in elementary school that picked on you and I went over to him and punched him. We got into a punch up till you broke us apart?” Patrick asked wondering if she remembered the whole thing after it happened so many years after it happened. Patrick waited for a moment. “Bradley is one of my main guys in the Phoenix Warriors we’re good friends now. You’ll get to see him again he’s always hanging around my place.” Patrick explained further to Kayla.

Kayla smiled as Patrick explained that he lived alone but he had his guys hanging around all the time. It was good that he had some guys to hang around while she had been in trouble. It was going to be the same again. Just like old times. Kayla looked to Patrick when he asked about Bradley. "Seriously? That guy was such a wuss back then. Who knew he'd be one of your main guys in your gang of bikers. Somethin' must've happened to him for him to man up. Well it's good that you guys are friends. Probably should say 'hi' to him one of these days." Kayla said. She remembered that fight so well. Bradley had been picking on her and made Kayla cry. Patrick had come to ask her what was wrong and she explained to Patrick what was happening. Patrick had gotten into a fight with Bradley and she had to get Patrick out of it before it got real serious.
"It was so fun back then. There were no worries, no real problems or anything. Though...it wasn't all like that," Kayla said with a soft frown. She remembered that when she got to middle school her parents had gotten in a car accident and she locked herself in her room because she was still traumatized by it all. Kayla sighed a bit as she thought about getting a few things for herself and her dorm. Kayla grabbed a few apples and put them in the plastic bag. She put it in the cart and looked to Patrick. "That's mine, so you don't have to pay for it."

Patrick loved remembering old times when he and Kayla were kids everything was perfect then they didn’t have a care in the world and nothing could go wrong except maybe a few mishaps but everything worked out in the end. Bradley and Patrick found themselves at Joe’s one afternoon a week after Patrick had formed his biker gang. After talking together and a few drinks the two forgave each other and became good friends now Bradley was a unit commander. Patrick formed his biker gang like a military unit, with him being the leader he was like a general then there were colonels and so on.
Patrick laughed as Kayla replied back to him about Bradley he was currently in Los Angeles recruiting members and starting another branch there. He’ll be back in the morning however so they could catch up with him then. “Bradley went into Army though he was discharged like a year after he gradated something about disobeying a direct order. I dunno the full story you’ll have to ask him. Yeah Bradley was at Joe’s one afternoon after he got back, we started talking and I asked if he wanted to join and he accepted my offer.” Patrick explained to Kayla.
Patrick had remembered how Kayla had talked him out of trying to beat the crap out of Bradley these were fun memories indeed. “It sure was Kayla we had so much fun.” Patrick got the rest of items on his list and turned back to Kayla. Taking his trolley to the checkout Patrick paid for them including the apples that Kayla had placed inside. “I’ll pay for them, don’t worry yourself Kayla. I got this” Patrick replied with a smile. “You doing anything tonight Kayla? Was going to cook something for myself tonight but would be happy if you came over.” Patrick asked Kayla.

Kayla giggled a bit. Bradley in the army? Wow, she had been missing a lot lately. "Thanks Patrick." Kayla said when he told her he would buy the apples. Then he asked if she was doing anything tonight. Kayla smiled. "Hold on lemme check my schedule," Kayla said teasingly as she pulled out an imaginary book. "That's filled, no, nope...looks like my schedule's all piled up except for tonight. So...I'd be happy to come over for dinner Patrick." Kayla said as she hugged him. She hadn't had dinner with Patrick in so long, there was no way she would refuse Patrick's offer. It'd be just like old times. Like when her grandma taught the two of them how to cook. "Still remember what Gran taught you?" Kayla asked as she took out her phone to text Raven that she would be out late. Hopefully he won't be bothered by it. After all, it's my best friend I'm spending time with. Kayla thought.
"So, is that all we need?" Kayla asked as she looked at the list then handed it to Patrick. It would be nice having dinner with Patrick, after all, they were close friends, even if he was older, her parents had been friends with his so obviously they were close. She always invited Patrick over for dinner whenever she could. It was always fun having a friend over. Now, so many years later she would be having dinner with Patrick, at his place. So many things can happen... Kayla thought.

Patrick nodded in reply he smiled back at her, he was so glad that he was seeing Kayla again they had a lot of catching up to do though knowing Kayla and him they would be staying up all night talking. Patrick laughed as Kayla said that she would check her schedule. Kayla loved to tease Patrick and he knew that sometimes he would allow Kayla to tease him just for the fun of it though he wouldn’t tell Kayla this but he did like to tease her back and he would wait for days afterwards to get her back. Patrick remembered some of the practical jokes that he played on Kayla in the past. Patrick hugged Kayla back tonight was going to be fun they hadn’t had dinner with each other for a very long time.
“How does spaghetti bolognaise sound? I was going to make that for dinner. Spaghetti bolognaise was the first meal that you’re Gran taught me how to cook. Remember how the bowl cracked and sauce and mince went everywhere. I ruined the meal so bad that we had to order pizza instead. It took Gran and I to clean the kitchen for hours. Couldn’t believe the sauce went up the walls.” Patrick explained laughing. “I have gotten better at cooking it though you don’t have to worry about me ruining the meal tonight.” Patrick explained to Kayla. “I just need to get the vodka and we’re all done.” Patrick said as he looked at the list once more.

Kayla giggled at the memory. "I still can't believe you didn't let me help. Both you and Gran told me to stay in the living room and out of the kitchen while you guys cleaned up. If I had helped it would've gone a lot faster," Kayla explained. "Mmm, spaghetti bolognaise. Always loved pasta. Spaghetti was always my favorite. Didn't matter the sauce, but spaghetti was so fun slurping it up when we were kids. I remember Gran teaching me how to use the spoon to twirl the spaghetti. She always wanted me to know basic manners, and I'll always remember them." Kayla said. "Even if you did ruin the meal Patrick I would lie and say it tasted really good." Kayla said as she smiled. Patrick still needed the vodka. "Have anything other than vodka to in your place. I want to at least have something to drink while I'm there. Don't worry about me being underage or anything. I'm in your home so it wouldn't matter." Kayla said with a wink to Patrick.
Kayla continued to walk as she looked around for the vodka. She found it and picked out something that she knew her dad had liked. Her dad loved to drink, but he was smart about drinking and Kayla knew it was one of those things that her mom liked because they could both drink and have fun when they were home. Kayla looked to Patrick and smiled softly. "Dad always loved this stuff...he had a shot of this before bed and told me that it helped him fall asleep. I'm pretty sure that it was an excuse but he lived a good life." Kayla mumbled.
