Kayla walked into the kitchen and grabbed a can of coke, the rum and then the vodka that Patrick had bought earlier. She brought out two glasses and looked to Patrick when he told her that he still remembered the scrapbook. It made her feel good that Patrick still remembered it. Kayla poured her own drink which was coke and rum. It was a fairly strong drink, but she at last wanted to drink something that hopefully wouldn't get her totally drunk. Kayla took her drink and took a sip, the alcohol burned her throat but it didn't bother her completely because she had nice bubbly coke with it as well. Kayla looked to Patrick and smiled. The food smelled good. And she was getting hungry. "Since you still have it, maybe we can look through it together, you know remember all the good times we had as kids." Kayla suggested. She was a very sentimental person, and having dinner here with Patrick and going through the scrapbook would be nice. Kayla poured a glass of vodka for Patrick and left the bottle out as she wondered where they would eat. More or less, they would probably eat in the living room.
"It's nice...being here with you and having dinner. Reminds me of all those good times we had. I still remember all the sleepovers we had because our parents always worked and Gran wanted us to have fun and was okay watching over the two of us, even though we were so rowdy. I can't believe she survived taking care of the two of us. We were such troublemakers back then as kids." Kayla said remembering.

Patrick was busy stirring in the sauce, he really had gotten better at making the dish it was in fact one of his favorites to make. Usually Patrick would have spaghetti bolognaise at least twice a week then there were leftovers for the next morning where he would have toast and eggs, together it made a good dinner and breakfast. It was Kayla’s Gran who taught Patrick about the wonders of leftovers, he smiled at the thought there was so many good memories that laid in the past and sharing them with Kayla was perfect the two were going to have a great night though Patrick knew that they would be spending the night talking and drinking which was good he had missed the good old times with Kayla and her family.
Kayla’s dad was there for Patrick when his own father was overseas in the Army when he didn’t know where the man was, he really should talk to the man. Turning away from the stove Patrick looked back to Kayla, she really had grown up from the last time he had seen her, his old feelings for Kayla came back but he did wonder if Kayla had felt the same way as he did though as Kayla’s Gran had said many times before he should ask but what if she rejected him, it was a fear that Patrick always had which made him not want to ask. Patrick watched Kayla as she got the drinks and glasses from their correct places.
Patrick poured himself a glass of vodka and orange and took a sip. “Yeah sure, just got to remember where I put it last.” Patrick explained it was months since he had seen the scrapbook. Walking into his room he looked through his cupboard until his hands rested on the scrapbook. “Found it.” Patrick shouted out, he walked back into the kitchen and handed the scrapbook to Kayla. “Yeah I know what you mean. I remember that April fools prank I pulled on Gran. The flour went everywhere I think I nearly gave Gran a heart attack.” Patrick explained.

"Gran put you in a time out until she finished baking the chocolate chip cookies for our afternoon snack. And she told me not to talk to you the entire time. I was so bored thanks to you." Kayla said as she took the scrapbook and looked inside of it. The first page had a picture of her and Patrick from her middle school graduation. She wished that she was older so that she could graduate with Patrick When they had finished with the ceremony, her Gran had taken that picture of them because their parents couldn't come. Kayla was sad that her parents weren't able to come because of the accident. That night her Gran had helped get her ready for the dance and she had gone with Patrick, just as friends, but she still had a great time though she had to beg the teacher's to let Patrick come because she didn't have many friends. She looked to the picture of them all dressed up which was the last picture in the scrapbook. Kayla turned the book back to the first page and found the picture of them in elementary school. That was when she was going into the kindergarten and Patrick was already a third grader. Patrick always visited her at the playground because she was so shy that she didn't have many friends.
Kayla looked to Patrick and smiled. "I still can't believe that as a kindergarten kid I was friends with the most feared third grader. Those were good times," Kayla said.
